About the Artist
Paul Sabyan is a contemporary artist known for his innovative exploration of mixed media, including, oil painting, digital media, collage, watercolour, and acrylics. His work is characterized by a bold use of colour, abstract forms, intricate details, architecture, history, and photographs, which invites viewers to engage deeply with both the visual and emotional aspects of his creations.
One of his most significant series, 365 Days of a History of England, showcases a series that evokes feelings of nostalgia and challenges perceptions of travel, history and architecture. Each day for one year, a work was created incorporating fragments of an unloved book titled “A History of England”. The results were 365, 4 X 6 inch panels.
Working against the backdrop of architecture, design, and history, Paul’s art responds to personal experiences that have shaped his perspective. This context enriches his practice, providing layers of meaning that resonate with a variety of audiences.
Paul divides his time between Prince Edward County, and Toronto where he teaches art.
